LGBT friendly Gold Coast

The Gold Coast's endless stretch of beaches and superb weather have been attracting tourists to Queensland's southern coast for decades. The year round near perfect climate makes this an outdoor lovers paradise, where quality-of-life and a healthy al-fresco lifestyle can be enjoyed by everyone. Beach-front communities such as the world-famous Surfers Paradise, Broad Beach and Coolangatta offer visitors a true slice of authentic, laid-back Aussie beach lifestyle. Lined with excellent restaurants, and world-class hotels, such as the six star Palazzo Versace, the Gold Coast's excellent facilities, and welcoming locals makes this a fantastic place in which to relax and recuperate.

Sun and surf isn't all that this region of Australia has to offer gay and lesbian tourists. Travel inland and visitors can discover boutique wineries, award-winning restaurants, art galleries and thriving communities with a delicate blend of old and new-world charm. The Hinterland is also a place of stunning natural beauty, including towns such as Springbok and the famous Purlingbrook Falls. Visitors can also visit Lamington National Park, which is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of the Australia World Heritage Area, the most extensive subtropical rainforest in the world. The area has more than 160 kilometres of walking trails, including the 21.4 kilometre Border track, built in the late 1930's and the Caves circuit which has views out over Coomera Valley.
